In Montessori, Cultural Studies
includes subjects like Geography, Science, Botany, Zoology, Art, and Music.
These subjects help children explore and learn about the world.
Learning Geography and Foreign
Languages helps children understand how big the world is, while also
learning about their own culture and others. This teaches children to
appreciate differences and develop empathy for people from different
backgrounds.
One fun activity is using Puzzle
Maps. Children can move the puzzle pieces, each representing a continent,
to develop motor skills while learning about geography. They also learn the
names of continents, countries, flags, and languages.
In Science, children do
hands-on experiments to explore how the world works. They learn ideas like sink
and float and magnetic vs. non-magnetic using real materials.
In Botany, children learn about
plants by studying their leaves, how to care for them, and how they grow. This
helps them develop an appreciation for nature.
Zoology teaches children about animals from around the world, including where
they live, what they eat, and how they’re classified.

Lastly, the study of Music allows the children a very
unique opportunity to express themselves. Music is explored through The Bells,
a Montessori material where the child develops and refines the auditory
discrimination of pitch. Children progress from learning each note, to learning
simple songs.
Culture activities
facilitate children's cognitive, social and emotional development in a
constructive way.
